The human touch is always at the heart of storytelling. 💡
As a filmmaker and video editor, creativity is often sparked by the most unexpected sources. Sometimes it’s a fleeting thought, other times it’s something more deliberate. Lately, I've been incorporating AI tools into my creative process—particularly when I hit a creative block or need to generate new ideas. These tools are fantastic for giving you that initial spark, offering unique suggestions I might not have considered otherwise.
Recently, I've begun to use tools such as ChatGPT in my creative process more and more. By generating ideas, fine-tuning script outlines, or even running dialogue options back-and-forth, I’m able to explore different storytelling paths. 📣
There's no substitute for writing or consulting with another human being, but sometimes when you're in the heat of a creative outpouring, I think AI can also help you to "be wrong fast", in the words of Bill Hader.
These AI insights serve as inspiration to help me refine and personalize the final product.
📃 While AI won't replace my vision as a writer or director, it adds another layer of creativity to my toolkit. It allows me to experiment more freely and test new concepts before diving deeper into editing or scripting.
Some shot ideas from my upcoming film, hashtag#TheLastFeast, have come from discussions with AI.
Has anyone else been using AI to amplify their creative workflow?
