Don't be afraid to experiment with AI! 💭
🧠 One of my favorite ways to come up with new ideas is through experimentation.
I've written some posts on the subject, as recently I’ve begun using AI to generate unique starting points for my projects.
I find that when I input a few broad creative prompts, AI can provide a list of angles and concepts that I hadn’t even considered.
For example, just a couple weeks ago I've started a new sketch comedy group with a few acting friends. We were struggling to come up with a name for ourselves that would be punchy, catchy, and also give an idea of what our style is gonna be. I played around a bit with AI, asking it to help me come up with a cool name.
The results were a mixed bag, ranging from completely banal to slightly entertaining. AI couldn't exactly grasp what makes for a great name, but it did spark our imagination and each new example pushed us in the right direction! In the end, when it gave us something fruit-based, that was the moment a lightbulb lit up and we came up with a play on words involving tomatoes, that both works in English and in Hebrew, and also gives you a hint of what you're gonna get when you watch our content 😉
🌶️ It’s all about finding those ‘what if’ moments and letting AI provide variations. Of course, I don’t rely on AI to dictate the end-result—that’s where my instincts, my experience, and my human intuition come in. However, these early-stage tools are invaluable for giving me that initial spark. As filmmakers and creatives, we’re always looking for ways to break the mold, and AI is proving to be a fantastic ally in that pursuit!
